Gray was NOT having the picture thing today.
Another rough morning in the Irwin house.
He wanted to wear his pajamas to school.
I had to draw the line.
Being the mean parent every morning sucks.
I feel like all I do is hound Gray every morning.
"You need to get up.
You need to get dressed, get out of bed.
Did you hear me?
Grayson, I said get your clothes on.
Pick out your cereal for breakfast.
Pick out your cereal for breakfast.
Grayson put the toy down and pick out your cereal!
Are you finished eating?
Hurry up.
You still need to get your teeth brushed and your socks on.
Are you still eating?
Finish up please!
Go brush your teeth.
No, I said go brush your teeth.
We'll talk about that after you go BRUSH YOUR TEETH.
GET IN THE BATHROOM AND BRUSH YOUR TEETH!"
I feel horrible every morning.
This is not a good way for anyone to start their day,
and I can understand Gray not wanting his picture taken.
I hope that this is still us just settling in to the school year.
And if it's not,
just for today,
lie to me and tell me it is.

Ah! This is us every single morning! Fun, huh? We had some success this morning when we instituted Morning Free Time. We walk out the door at 7:20. Once the kids are completely ready to go they can do whatever they want until 7:20. If they take forever to get ready they don't get any free time. I'm hoping that continues to work.
Kelly - I actually like this picture of Gray. You and Nate are doing a great job and it will get better/easier as Gray adjusts to his new routine. Heck, I still have problems with an early morning routine and I've been doing it for 46 years!!!! :)
I love you guys. Enjoy your down time this weekend.
G.G.
It should get better once he accepts the fact this is what happens every day. Katelyn looks forward to 'stay home days' and complains some school day mornings, but she knows she has to go so gets ready...eventually. Some days require more coaxing. Also how I came to bribe her with fruit snacks. She only gets them when we're ALL ready to go. We don't brush after, but we're not late! Hang in there. New routines are tough and some take longer to adjust to.
you are not alone sista. you are not alone. ;)
